Journey Church, located in South Florida, is growing its mission both within the state and globally, Using their database they are currently planting churches in Ecuador. According to their mission statement, Journey Church strives for people to live a life transformed to live and love like Jesus. Their goal is to create an atmosphere where you can experience God in weekend services, discover a purpose, and make a difference by volunteering.
Journey Church began in a small classroom and has since expanded to Boynton Beach, Lake Worth, and West Palm Beach, Florida. This has allowed Journey to reach cities, neighborhoods, and families in that area. Journey has a large impact in Mexico and Ecuador.
“Our vision is that we continue to see the church grow both numerically and spiritually, " says Josh Rene, Associate Pastor at Journey Church. “We believe that if the church is healthy and thriving, the community around it should be healthy and thriving.”
Journey Outreach is a ministry a part of Journey Church that meets local and global communities needs. They serve over 100 organizations each year and support over 50 organizations financially. Journey organizes a local event is First Saturday Serve, in which the community comes together and serves through service projects. Journey partners with many global missions organizations and helps plant churches around the world including in Ecuador and Mexico.
Journey lists four core values for their Church: growth, positivity, humility, and relationships. These four core values help define the culture of who they are as a church. Journey pursues internal health over external growth and makes Christ-likeness primary and leadership secondary.
Part of Journey's mission is to assist families in programs like Journey Kids, Journey Youth, and Journey Young Adults. In these groups, the Church aims to provide young people with community and spiritual guidance.
“If it wasn’t for Journey and the community I had around me, I probably would still be lost, " says Carlos, a regular attendee at Journey Church. “Journey has the love of Jesus in it and that is what has attracted me to keep coming back.”
According to Rene, the church makes efforts to be deeply involved with each community they are located in so that they can care for people spiritually, relationally, and practically.
